A September note: In the fruit that falls༄

A September note: In the fruit that falls༄

The week began under the Capricorn moon, one week before the Pisces lunar eclipse…

Now the night before.

I feel myself wrapping up the season in more ways than one.

The garden is winding down: apples are being gathered, fresh commitment to a yoga ritual steadies us, after-dinner walks in the wind. Bear medicine. Moon medicine. This is my final month here in Mackenzie, for now a chapter that is closing, transforming, shapeshifting into something new. A release is coming.. and surrender must be my prayer.

Late August arrived with its own grand finale, carrying a wave of warmth and light. Friends visited, days were spent out on the lake, a surge of solar energy arrived as the summer we had all been waiting for.

And now, just like that… I feel her fading slowly. The winds of change sweep through the trees, bringing a rain of sweetness & sour, and with it a certain pressure to complete, to shift, to let go..

Fruit falls as an offering to the earth ripe with hidden sweetness, edged with sour truth. Each drop a spell of the season, a reminder that death and rebirth walk side by side, every falling carrying the promise of a rising again.

As I edge deeper into the ripening motions of transition, I hold the reminder that every ending is a threshold into a new becoming, the adventure continues on. The hearth shifts its shape, the landscape transforms, yet the roots remain steady in the unseen underground, moving through their own journey of hidden regenerative renewal. And through it all, the wisdom of the seasons remain on the alter of life.

This slow & remote summer has been a special one. A summer I'll carry as talisman through many moons to come.. I'll wax and wane with the spirit of this land encapsulated in my memory forever.

And now, with the Blood Moon lunar eclipse approaching in Pisces (tomorrow infact) a watery, mythic & tender invitation to get a little cosier with ourselves, allow space to carve out a new ritual, release an over ripened story or habit, what no longer needs to be carried, not because it's broken (or maybe it is) - but because something deeper is asking to be born. This final line was borrowed from Lily Ashwell's latest note to the astrological season.. her words touched me and I'm echoing them in her honour here.

I'm reminded that Pisces is asking us to dream, to dissolve, to feel, to remember we are held by something larger than ourselves.. & to devote & surrender to the alter of our lives, our choices the offering.. all the magick and medicine we receive on our path..the pain and brokenness that goes hand in hand.. the exponential extra-ordinariness of this human experience.

Eclipse season begins a tender call to surrender - not by floating away, but by planting both feet on the ground & taking full responsibility for our healing ~ Lily Ashwell

May this turning of season and sky bring you your medicine.. your ripened blessings of release & remembering. May you find ritual in the small, everyday moments of shift & presence; in the fruit that falls, in the winds that clear, in the stillness that follows. In the movement & motions that are inevitable. Yes, it's overwhelming at times living in this 'crazy' world, but let's not forget that we came with ancient wisdom in our bones and starlight in our blood.

Thankyou for being here,
