Alchemy of leftovers🜂

A simple kitchen spell: three dish ideas conjured from leftovers in the fridge, a brown banana and the carrot pulp 'waste' from fresh cold press juicing.

Nothing wasted, everything transformed.

A short post for no waste recipe ideas, I haven't included full recipes here although I aim to in the future.

1. Forget-Me-Not Banana, Buckwheat & Carrot Pulp Biscuits
Soft, naturally sweet, & lightly spiced with cinnamon & nutmeg~perfect for tea time. A phase 2 for this recipe idea is to then go on to melt dark chocolate and dip one side or face of 2 biscuits in, leave to cool (chocolate facing up) then go on to make ice-cream sandwiches!

2. Slow-Cooked Ragu with Carrot Pulp
Rich, hearty, and slow-simmered. the carrot pulp melts into the sauce, deepening the flavour while quietly adding fibrous goodness and thickening the sauce.

3. Baked Protein Rich Rice Balls
A home favourite snack with leftover rice, anything can be added in (cheese, spices, herbs) this time I added a spoonful of carrot pulp folded in for a subtle sweetness and texture (made with egg & chickpea flour as binders & extra protein) Roll into balls & bake for 12 mins in the air fryer on 190C ~Enjoy dipped into a homemade mayo or caesar sauce. Simple, satisfying, and ready to pack for adventures on the go.
