Chapter I Astro-nutrition series:A devotional guide to digesting Virgo Season~ especially helpful for those with natal Virgo Sun's, Moon's & Rising signs 🜃
In light of the nearing potency of the Virgo New Moon, and the seasonal shift from fiery Leo into earthy Virgo, I felt called to share an infographic series I put together a couple of years ago & In true Virgo fashion, it remained hidden, never quite making it into the light, until now..
The info is woven together from a few of my favourite teachers in the realms of medical astrology and evolutionary herbalism. Virgo's may appreciate having this information ready to reach & in one place, I've compiled and organised the info to be digested simply & easily, although there may be further curiosity stirred~ Think of it as a little companion for this time: an invitation to tune into Virgo’s medicine of discernment, digestion and devotion to the small sacred tasks that keep life in rhythm.
A loving reminder: this is symbolic guidance, not replacement for medical advice. You know your own body, I don't. Do your own due diligence, take what resonates, leave what doesn't <3
Virgo ♍︎~
The how, the shoulds, the coulds, the discerning gaze that asks: what is working, and what is not?
Virgo as a living recipe & ritual teaches & guides us to be actively present with what is, to refine, re:align, adjust & re:center using the tools & ingredients we have gathered with intention.
This season calls us our attention toward ritual, our daily devotions, the humble habits that shape the fabric of our lives and how we approach our work, our relationships, our communities & our own being.
Virgo whispers: What can you learn in a new way? Where can you take more responsibility, adapt, and meet the changing world with a deeper, more sincere sense of integrity & steadiness?
And perhaps most tenderly, where are we tired? Where are we giving too much of ourselves? Where might our energy need to be called back home, inhaled inward, gathered like wild herbs?
I mused recently about Hestia, the goddess of the hearth, the quiet flame, the keeper of sacred tending, inside & out~ I find myself circling back to her presence again as Virgo season rises..
Hestia embodies this Virgoan devotion: In the way small, seemingly ordinary rituals can become sacred acts of alignment. Virgo energy reminds me that tending to the mundane details, our bodies, our spaces, our habits can be as is holy work.

With that in mind...
Sometimes when we’re taking stock of what’s working (or not), we can slip into those critical Virgo states, the ones that convince us devotion only “counts” if it looks a certain way. Suddenly, we’re trying to per~fect an elaborate morning ritual just to feel worthy: up before sunrise, journal pages filled, basal body temp recorded religiously at the exact same hour, bonus points for yoga and meditation every. single. day. Only then, my inner holier-than-thou self declares, I will be truly committed, devotional, ritualistic…[insert personal scrutiny here]
*eye roll*
Don’t get me wrong, all of these things are beautiful, nourishing, and deeply soul-serving. And honestly, I do wish I recorded my BBT every morning (that’s a high priority for me). I’m always striving to sink more fully into rhythm with my inner seasons and fertility awareness.
But let us remember: devotion doesn’t have to be extravagant, rigid, or high light reel perfect.
It can be as simple & as impactful as the soft glow of the Hermit’s lantern, casting light into the quiet dark in profoundly magical ways. Like the ripples from a stone dropped into still water, Virgo reminds us: it’s in the details, the quiet gestures, the subtle whispers, and the often unseen waves where a humble, ancient wisdom resides.
"Simplicity is a gift" – Gene key 23
Here are a few ideas for gentle herbal brews that may support a softening of the over-critical or tensely analytical mind this coming season..
Simple sips, gentle inner dialogue & a dash of cosy alone time offers me the most in moments of "aaaah".. A cup of herbs & mellow music can be a profound antidote in quieting the sometimes overbearing voices within me, softening the edges of my mind, reminding me that devotion & ritual can be as humble and nourishing as a good cuppa.. I trust that the rest will align & follow..
I say, move even slower.. do even less. Or maybe it's, do more of what you love in a bigger way.

Organ Affinities/Physiology: Virgo season invites us into the temple of digestion, where body and spirit meet in the art of sorting, sifting, and discerning what truly nourishes us both inside & out.
Ruling the liver, pancreas, spleen, and upper intestines, Virgo guides the “inner sorting system”: not just gut health, but multidimensional digestion of thoughts, habits, and the wild rainbow of daily emotions. The Digestive system is a gateway to great vision. When we clear what clogs and distracts, we make s p a c e for greater abundance, clarity, and alignment to grow & flow.
“Virgo governs the plant kingdom, keeper of herbs, of healing, of medicine-making. The sign who reminds us the green world is alive with subtle yet exponential intelligence.”

Think of yourself as a wondrously far reaching & vastly rooted tree, an intrinsic thread within an intricate web of a vibrant & ancient forest..You receive nourishment from all that is alive within you & all that surrounds you. Above & below.
Here are a few kitchen pantry and medicine cupboard essentials especially resonant for those with Virgoan body types and constitutions (though by no means limited to them). They can also help fortify and balance tender or weakened Virgo placements, if you read your chart more fluently. Think of them as foods and herbs that nourish and strengthen, that both stimulate and ground the body, mind, and heart; for digesting and releasing all that no longer serves within.

The air shifts with the approach of this Virgo New Moon, rising at 0° Virgo on August 22–23, just two days from now. Like stepping into a new beginning, this New Moon marks the entrance to eclipse season, a portal crackling with potential. The welcoming of Autumn, a zero-point threshold inviting freshly seeded intentions, lettings go and the promise of awakening.
Take good care, thanks for being here x
